Coming to you from the Oregon Coast!

Sadly enough, Big A is just as sick as can be with an ear infection and a wicked cough. We have tried pretty much every cough remedy known to mankind, and the poor kid is still just hacking (no whooping, though!). Little B is in the process of picking up Big A’s cold, and unfortunately, the anti-inflammatory medicine isn’t turning out immediate results. I was sincerely hoping for immediate results. Regardless, though, we’re on the course of anti-inflammatory medicine for 10 days, so hopefully we start seeing results soon.

We actually traveled to the coast and are staying in a rental house with friends -- Mikey and Carrie, and Jeff and Susan (and their family). Mimi and Hea were also supposed to attend, but sadly enough they have colds as well, so they are tucking in for the weekend at home.
The “travelling to the coast” part of today was actually moderately stressful. We’ve had some crazy-cold, snowy weather in the mountains, which required poor G to put snow chains on Rona at the base of a pretty impressive hill. G was up most of the night with Little B, who decided to not sleep, I ended up driving through the mountains. We didn’t go over 35 mph, but that was more than enough, if you know what I mean. The trip was pleasant enough, though. Both boys were amazingly well behaved, and we only had to make one potty stop (which was as much for me as it was for Big A!). In any case, we arrived later than we planned, but happily in one piece. Rona (the van) did a great job transporting us.

Our rental house is really nice – large, airy, no crazy wiring or scary owners. Things are going well… so far! I hope this vacation works out – our last vacation (to the Midwest) was just a little too stressful in terms of Little B getting sick and a series of mechanical mishaps (flights, phones, camera, vans…). Little B also went into the hospital a few days after we got home from our last vacation (for his the feeding tube placement). I just really, really hope that this goes well – we could use a little boost, if you know what I mean.

On tap for tomorrow: tons of turkey (and some tofurkey) and all the fixings. Merriment and perhaps a walk on the beach with the rest of the family.
