Welcome, 2012

So, some funny/crazy things to start your 2012...

The boys have been watching a lovely movie called "Arthur's Perfect Christmas", which introduces kids to multiple winter holiday traditions (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, etc). Big A, though, has decided that he really digs Hanukkah, and that we should celebrate it as soon as possible. He is also trying to talk like a 65 year old Jewish woman, which is disconcerting. Further, he is singing Jewish prayers while going to the bathroom, so you know he's serious about it. I'm not even sure what to do with this kid.

Little B has thrown us for a loop for the last two days. He started vomiting yesterday, then started running a temperature, then basically just climbed up on me and passed out. I've been in touch with the oncology clinic, and we went in today, but they think it is a cold/crud, as opposed to anything serious. I'm thinking it might be teething (or that he has serious drug seeking behavior when it comes to the Orajel). Regardless, it has been pretty horrifying at the whole Weebert household. That being said, we have had our moments of humor, to wit: tonight Little B was tired, so we watched a YouTube video (Elmo Had Five Ducks), then I carried him upstairs to start our "go-to-sleep" ritual. Well, Little B wanted to watch the video again. Commence 20 minute tantrum. I finally wrestle him into a chair so that we can rock for a bit, but with his blue vibrating toothbrush (he's obsessed with oral health!). Five minutes of peace. Poor G tries to get B's diaper change. Commence second 20 minute tantrum ("DON'T STEAL MY ELMO DIAPER!!!!"). Little B calms down enough so that we can agree he can keep his Elmo diaper. We try to get him into bed, and wrestle away the toothbrush. Big mistake. Tantrum commences, which G promptly caves into (as would I). Five minutes later, G and Little B are snuggled up, Little B with his blue vibrating toothbrush still vibrating on Little B's face. Three hours later, Little B is still happily snuggled with his toothbrush...
