Day 101: They're Back!
MIMI, HEA and BABY HENRY are home! Thank the good lord! The Weebert boys have missed their aunties something fierce. Today they showered their poor aunties with love today, tuckering them out further, I'm afraid! Little B and Big A talked Hea into playing in the pool and in the play room, and then talked her into taking them to the grocery. In any case, the Weebert household feels a little more normal with the rest of the gang here!
Family Round-up: The rest of my sisters and their families will be here for a visit next week! We're getting ready for four more adults and four more kids to shack up at our house. Insanity, here we come! :-)
Chinese Gardens: We had a great play date today at the Portland Chinese Garden. I have only been to the Chinese garden once in the past, for a business social event. Today with the kids was a little chaotic and more ... erm ... lively than the last visit! They have a tai chi class on Thursdays at 10 am, and we seem to have disrupted it a good bit. We did have the boys do a "treasure hunt", but I'm not sure they actually saw much of the garden -- they were a bit busy hunting the bad guys that were lurking about.
Chemo Update: Little B's ANC is still too low for chemo, so we're off for another week. The oncologist isn't worried, as Little B is doing so well per his most recent MRI. Therefore, he said, he's not pushing the chemo, even though Little B's ANC is at 900 (instead of the required 1000).
MRI Update: Little B's most recent MRI was very positive! It shows that there is much less tumor activity! The oncologist isn't sure if it is due to the chemo or post-surgical changes calming down further. Regardless, we're pleased. We're still slogging through with the chemo, as we can't take the chance that the chemo is doing the job and we remove that medicine (allowing the tumor to re-grow)... it's gruelling and something that keeps me awake at night. Should I have gotten a second, third, or fourth opinion before starting chemo? Should I have just said "No" to chemo and asked them to hold off for another two months? I will be second-guessing myself until the end of time, but that's how we roll.
