This just in... Camp is AWESOME!

I will admit that I'm not a huge fan of the "camps" where kids sit in a small building and don't get to go outside all day. Happily, for both me and my camp priorities, as well as Big A, Rosi, and Mari, there is a camp that works for us: Trackers PDX. We love it (so far)!

Big A has been attending a camp at Trackers PDX this week on Stealth and Archery. I really like the Trackers PDX way of doing thing -- take kids out to a cool place, let them run around outside, doing awesome things, and let them grow. Big A, so far this week, has built shelter, fished, learned basics of archery, learned to track animals, and to be "stealthy." It is pretty neat. He's totally into the "Ranger" way of life at this point.

Rosi is doing a Little House on the Prairie camp this week, and it seems totally cool. She picked berries and then made jam out of them, did gardening (as pioneers did), and is working on making a rag doll. It seems pretty neat (and Rosi is TOTALLY into Little House)!

Mari is doing a Faeries, Elves and Dragons camp, which she seems to like. She stayed home today to catch up on sleep but has otherwise been very happy to go to camp.

In any case, it has been a good few days for the kids. Lots of energy expended. Lots of driving for Carrie and I, and lots of snack preparation, as well!
