Tigers and Bands, oh my!

Our Fourth of July was quite lovely. Unfortunately, Grandma Weebert, Kyle and Kendra jetted back to Wisconsin at 8 am on what turned out to be the nicest day any of us remembers. It was sunny and in the 70s, which is just about perfect.

Stone Soup

Raging fans...
G's band had a gig at a Sherwood Community Festival, which was a nice time. The band was on first in the morning, so there wasn't a huge turnout, but Big A did some excellent dancing and whooping it up, which added considerable merriment. They also had (joy of joys!) face painting. Little B has wanted to have his face painted for some time now, and did the mark-up artists deliver!

Because one must wear PJs to watch fireworks...
After all this excitement, we went home for naps all around, and a bit of a break. It was so nice to get the Vitamin D replenished a bit. I actually woke up refreshed this morning  (July 5) -- so much so that I didn't have coffee to get me going.

We went to see fireworks at a local HOA's presentation. It was AMAZING. They had about 15,000 people there last year. This year they had about a 30 minute presentation, and it was awesome! The boys were floored (it was their first fireworks experience). In any case, a good time was had by all.

Big A is being pretty snarky lately. Every time this happens, I need to give him more responsibilities and more autonomy. It is hard to find the balance. In contrast, Little B is the biggest whiner this side of the Mississippi. Dear lord, I just want to put in earplugs! That boy is a very. effective. whiner. Oh well, hopefully he'll grow out of it soon!
