Vacation!

Well, it has been a bit exciting around here of late. Grandma Weebert and the boys' cousins, Kendra and Kyle, came out from Wisconsin for a week-long visit. We have been having a ball! We spent three days at the coast (Newport), which was excellent. The weather was a bit chilly and wet, but the Midwest has had such a hot, hot summer, that no one really minded. We visited the ocean a number of times (because how could we do anything else?), the Oregon Coast Aquarium, both Newport lighthouses, and Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area (which is truly outstanding). We also introduced Kyle and Kendra to McMenamins, which is a local restaurant/brew pub chain. Big A and Kyle actually swam in the ocean a few times and had a ball.

Seals? Sea lions? No... Weebert-fish!

Yaquina Head. Outstanding!

Something that very, very rarely happens...

We have been really running the boys ragged -- the "big kids" are ready to get in with the boys and have fun, which really amps up the fun to be had (I hadn't realized how lame G and I are, but it won't be a surprise to most!). In any case, we had some very tired Weeberts on the way back from the coast. We got home Saturday at about 4 pm, and then G had band practice.

On Sunday, we engaged in a little Portland-centric fun and hit Powells Bookstore for some books and then went to Chinatown (downtown) for some "authentic" Chinese food. Then there were naps, lots and lots of naps!

Today we hit the zoo and Multnomah Falls (because everybody has to see the falls!). Tonight after dinner I took Big A and Kendra to get their hair cut. I think we are wearing Kyle and Kendra out -- both went to bed at about 9:15 tonight.

Little B slept in the van while we ran to the falls.

Pretty, pretty Multnomah Falls...
