August 22: Sundays are long.

This weekend was a little hit and a little miss. Yesterday was much fun for A -- he went to a birthday party for one of his preschool frinds. Then we all went to "Porkfest 2010!!!" -- Some friends of ours have an annual party to celebrate all things pork-related. I made some pork-related sides - coleslaw and cornbread (both with bacon bits). A had a huge amount of fun with the other boys who were at the party! They were wrestling, playing keep-away, and generally rough-housing like mad. We had a heck of a time convincing him to eat dessert -- and that is saying something!

Little B is teething. Molars are mean. He was up a goodly portion of the night last night (and with him, Greg and I bumbling around). Let's just say that is sort of how of how our Sunday went. We spent some time on Sauvie Island, enjoying the farms after breakfast. G worked on our composting area, as it has gotten a little weedy lately. Hea was kind enough to come over for a visit.

It was nice and cool today, so I made shepherds pie for dinner, and peach crisp for dessert. Holy cats, the crisp was *incredible*!

And now for a little clean-up, and then early to bed. If last night is a preview for tonight, we need to get our sleep asap.
