August 13: Day two of Alien A...

Today was the second day of Alien A... he's eating like a champ and has decided that he's "a *very* good eater!" He had a bite of scrambled eggs for breakfast. Then, lunch included dried green beans ("I LOVE green beans" -- wha?) and dried peaches. Tonight's dinner included corn on the cob, sweet potatoes (not in french fry form), celery, bread 'n butter, and sweet cherries. And a lick of tomatoes. A actually requested the sweet potatoes, celery and sweet cherries. We didn't have sweet cherries at home, but I happily ran out to QFC to get them. Dinner constituted a ton of "tastes" but not a lot of food, so we had a "snack" of peanut butter rice cake, which we haven't had before.

I had a job interview for an instructor's position at a local community college. The interview went well, and I should hopefully hear from them within a week. They have to make the hiring decision soon, as school starts on September 13.

The weather has been crazy this week . I mention this only because we're trying to get the house painted. The house painters stripped the house on Tuesday, and we ended up getting a half of an inch of rain on Wednesday (this much rain in Portland in August is really unprecedented). Today was also chilly, but we got only a few showers. I'm not sure how long we will need to have the house dry out before they can start priming, but I'm hoping it's soon!
