August 15: Lovely Saturday

Today was just a lovely day. We had a wonderful time catching up with friends that I used to work with, and walking through the Oregon Zoo. Their son, Max, is just adorable, and they are expecting a second son in October. I will be sure to schedule more zoo dates in the future. As Gulgun said, it's so much nicer to walk around the zoo than to have to clean house and wait for someone to come over (while fighting with the little ones to keep the house clean!).

After the zoo, I made some bread dough in the Cuisinart breadmaker. That thing is just amazing. I forgot the dough in the breadmaker (I shape it into loaves that we are more likely to use -- like cinnamon rolls for G) for four extra hours, and the bread still cooked up beautifully.

After a peaceful (shocking!) nap with A and B, we went out to dinner with our friends Su and Todd, from Federal Way. We had Indian on the east side, and A tried his first bit of marsala. Crazy! I love chatting with Su and Todd; they always have interesting things going on. We're planning on getting together with them again tomorrow at Old Wives' Tales.

B has been a sweet boy today. So mellow. I'm not sure what's going on! :-) A seemed to have a headache or sinus problems. Poor little fellow! The weather has been just hateful for sinus-issues lately. It's still cloudy and cool; crazy for Portland weather!
