September 8: An "Average" Family Day!

Well, we had quite the day! A had his first day of preschool this year -- very exciting! He was so excited to go and see his friends! When I picked him up today, he said: "Can I just stay here, and you and Daddy and Benny can just come and visit me?" Apparently, he's gotten over the hating to be away from mom and dad! The teachers said he played all day with his buddies from last year, as well as a little boy named Alex. The teachers were all shocked at how different A is this year from last, and I think in a good way. Hope so, at least.

B was scheduled to have a well-baby checkup this morning. Unfortunately, G was having a tough morning and he had taken the keys for both the car and the van with him. Well, Mimi and Hea were so kind as to bring over their car. We ended up missing his appointment (and got it easily rescheduled), but we did go to Costco and got B essentials (diapers and wipes) and A essentials (ketchup, peanut butter and syrup). We also got a G essential -- burgers! Good times.

B and I then headed home at about 11 am. B ate and I did work. We then were pleasantly surprised when G came home early. I went to pick up A, and then put both boys down for a nap. Neither really slept... oh well, it was an exciting day.

A and I finished working on A's part of the "artwork" project, and then we got a call from our pediatrician's office. She had some late-day appointment cancellations, so we jumped on them, if for no other reason then to get the appointments over with.

I pulled together a quick dinner -- pb sandwich and miso soup for A, and garden burgers and big salads for G and I (raspberries, onions, mozzarella balls, yellow tomatoes, and raspberry vinaigrette). The salads were awesome.

In any case, quick trip to the pediatrician's. Both boys are in the fiftieth percentile for both height and weight... talk about super-average kids! B got his baby shots -- poor little man. He was so surprised when he got the shots. A didn't need any, so he read a book with G instead. We came home, gave both boys a quick bath, and then shuffled them off to bed.
